PEQUOT LA.KES AREA FIRE BOARD <br />MINUTES OF THE JULY 31, 2013 MEETING <br />The quarterly meeting of the PLAFB was called to order by Chairman Peterson. <br />Members in attendance were Hart, Benson, Adams, Dubay, Sodd, Rudberg, Nelson, <br />Peterson, Donovan, and Bartels. The minutes of the last meeting were not read due to a <br />motion by Adams, second by Donovan, motion passed. <br />The second quarter fire call report totaled 18 calls. By types, there were 10 good intent <br />calls, 5 mutual aid, 2 grass fires, and 1 structure fire. By location, there were 8 to Pequot <br />Lakes, 2 to Nisswa, 2 to Crosslake, 2 to Loon Lake Township, 1 to Ideal Township, 1 to <br />Pelican Township, 1 to City of Breezy Point, and 1 to the City of Jenkins. There were 3 <br />fire bills sent that totaled $1900.00. <br />The fraining report totaled 9 hours during the quarter. There were 3 hours auto <br />extrication, 3 hours pump aperation, 2 hours mock car accident, and 1 hour each <br />flashover trailer and use of forcible entry tools and techniques. <br />The second quarter financial report actually is far an extra month and reports thru July. <br />Operat�g su�piies is high due to purchases of non budgeted pressure washer and fire <br />proof storage cabinets. Clothing allowance is hig� due to ir�creasing costs of fire geax and <br />a new 10 year life expectancy for fire helmets that created an immedia�e nee� for ne�,v <br />he�mets. The departn�e�t des�gned a new fire patch and new jaekets were ardered for <br />m��bers. �'��r�i�g ��oo� expe�es �re �:o� a� bac� �s �� a.ppe�rs �aeeause the department is <br />reimbursed by the state training board f�r r�ost a� �ur trairiing. Donovan motioned ro <br />approve the report, secflnd by RudbergT mo--�iian passed. <br />�;re �ep�rtment news inciudes information that the depariment and first responders have <br />��� �Q �cz��c�taan ahout a f�ture �t�r�er, the de�ex�t �e2ped vvith Safety Tawn <br />program, our memorial scholarship for $500.00 was awarded to Moriah Gudhal, <br />�epartment provided a�re t�uck for Gloria Dei Church block party, department provided <br />w�:��� �:�� �� ���::� �'���� ���E fi�nd raiser, held our a.na�ual.i�� 4� pancake breakfast <br />with a new record atierada:r�c� af 1459 peop�e, ��.zr�h�se� u u��u ��" �� ���s ��Y� w 3,�s�� <br />electric grill to Crossla.%e �ire de�a�ae��.. p��r�ide � tirp teE,�y� #nr �c„nrE�rs� na,�,a- ���c-,i� <br />sc�iool track team ta the sia�e tournament, ar�d designed a new logo fire patch. <br />Our fire department provided a fire pump engine for the Crreen Valle� br�sh �e near <br />Menagha. The fire was 9 miles long and 3 males wide. There were 45 iire depa�n�ts <br />��a� s��± ���€��r�� �� e���y��e�� tc �e�p ��i the fie.
