COMMi7NurY Ciglpj <br /> GKOWrrH Pequot <br /> INSTITUTE eS�- <br /> STAFF REPORT <br /> Application: After-the-fact Variance Application to Exceed Maximum Accessory <br /> Structure Height <br /> Applicant: James Byrne <br /> Agenda Item: 4(a) <br /> Background Information: The applicant is requesting an after-the-face variance to <br /> exceed the maximum height for an accessory structure in the "Shoreline Residential" <br /> Zone. The subject property located at 4905 Olson Road and is zoned "Shoreline <br /> Residential." The subject property is .43 acres and is adjacent to East Twin Lake. <br /> In September 2012, the property owner was issued a land use permit to, "Amend Land <br /> Use Permit #11-39 to include change of roofline of existing garage and addition to match <br /> roofline of lakehome per plans and site plan submitted. NO HABITATION ALLOWED. <br /> Building height shall not exceed 13 feet as defined in the City Code." The accessory <br /> structure is 161 ft from the OHW of East Twin Lake and 14'from the east property line. <br /> After the structure was constructed, it was determined the height of the accessory <br /> structure (as defined by ordinance) is 14' — 7 1/2". The applicant is requesting an after- <br /> the-fact variance to exceed the maximum height of an accessory structure in the <br /> "Shoreline Residential"zone. <br /> The following notes and photograph are from an onsite visit with the property owner <br /> �. May 6, 2014: <br /> The property owner stated the following: <br /> • There are no guest quarters within the structure <br /> • There is no sewer/water connection to the building <br /> • The structure will be used as a private wood working shop <br /> • The second story is for lumber storage only <br /> • There is "no support" for the upper level deck.
