City Of
P
equot
-
Lakes---
June 25, 2014
Virgil Dahl
3952 County Road 17
Pequot Ickes, MN 56472
Re: Code Violations and Nuisance Conditions
Dear Mr. Dahl:
Chief Klang and I visited your property yesterday. A woman named Sara gave us
permission to come onsite. I did note the following:
. 1. The boat and trailer and a large rectangular object blocked the east entrance. I
had asked that items in this location be removed as it looks bad from the road.
2. The single-wide mobile home remains.
3. There was burned garbage next to the sleeper. New items were placed on the pile
as if to be burned at a later date, although I had informed you that garbage
cannot be burned.
4. Only one (1) RV is allowed. One RV from the back had been removed, but there
are several in stages of dismantling, as well as a camper and a trailer.
5. The green barn has been taken down.
6. There were several piles of miscellaneous items. It did not appear as though
anything had been hauled away. Additional items had been added to the piles
and additional piled items were observed.
7. There were still areas that had not been sorted yet.
8. The burn pit on the east end of the property was smolder from being recently
burned. A very foul smell came from the smoke which would indicate to me that
items other than wood had been burned.
9. Several ducks and chickens were observed; I was informed that the horse had
been moved up on the hill.
10.Motor vehicle seats were observed scattered about the property.
11. Numerous containers of household hazardous waste were observed; those items
need to be disposed of at a solid waste facility and not burned.
4638 COUNTY ROAD 11 • PEQuoT LAKES,N N 56472• (218) 568-5222 • FAx: (218) 568-5860•www.pequodakes-mn.gov
