PLANNING DEPARTMENT ASSESSMENT— 2013 <br /> PURPOSE: <br /> • To determine the level of customer service provided; <br /> • To determine the consistency in City Code interpretation; <br /> • To determine the consistency in Code enforcement; <br /> • To determine the consistency in the City Code, as written. <br /> CUSTOMER SERVICE: <br /> Staff will continue to provide to the customer the service needed to accomplish tasks in a <br /> friendly and respectful manner. <br /> CITY COUNCIL: <br /> The City Council will continue to give clear direction to the Planning Department and will <br /> continue to be consistent enforcing the Land Use Ordinance. <br /> POLICY AND PROCEDURE: <br /> The Planning and Zoning Department will monitor the action items outlined in the <br /> Comprehensive Plan to ensure the policies are implemented through the Land Use Ordinance. <br /> Staff will continue to communicate clearly through checklists and other means to convey what is <br /> necessary for a permit, reviewing and updating as necessary. <br /> PROACTIVE COMMUNICATION: <br /> The Planning and Zoning website will be improved and fact sheets will be developed that <br /> summarize key points of the Land Use Ordinance to make it easier to understand. <br /> IMPLEMENTATION/ENFORCEMENT: <br /> Staff will continue to ensure the land use program is implemented fairly to all applicants and <br /> that there is no inconsistency in the administration and enforcement of the City land use <br /> requirements. <br /> ORDINANCES: <br /> The Planning and Zoning Department will update the Land Use Ordinance as necessary to <br /> ensure it does not contain ambiguities and inconsistencies. <br />
