City Council Minutes <br />August 6, 2013 <br />Page 7 of 9 <br />----------------------------- <br />9.4. North Washington Street Concept Plan <br />Tim Houle presented the Council with a conceptual design layout of North <br />Washington Street. <br />The Council discussed several options to the design. Discussion pursued <br />regarding adding sidewalk on both sides of the street to Oriole Street and <br />to extend parking north using parallel parking. Council Member Pederson <br />suggested eliminating two parking stalls on the east side and use the <br />space as a pedestrian oasis with a bike rack and benches. City Engineer <br />Tim Houle indicated he would revise the conceptual drawing and present it <br />to the Council at the September Council meeting. <br />9.5. Public Restrooms <br />%;<.. <br />Council Member Sjoblad explained the need for public restrooms to be <br />located in Downtown Pequot Lakes. He suggested contracting with a <br />company using portable outhouses which cost about $105 per month. The <br />Council suggested that it may be worth trying, but noted that they should <br />be screened. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON MOVED TO PUT TWO PORTABLE <br />OUTHOUSES ONE LOCATED AT THE NORTH END OF TRAILSIDE <br />PARK AND ONE NEAR THE DUMPSTERS AT THE JACKPINE <br />CENTER FOR A TRIAL PERIOD OF TWO MONTHS. COUNCIL <br />MEMBER SJOBLAD SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5- <br />0. <br />`., ,>.ro,,,; <br />10. City Clerk's Office <br />10.1. Job Evaluation Committee Recommendations <br />A. Job Description Amendments <br />The Mayor noted that the Job Evaluation Committee reviews job <br />descriptions each year as part of the budget process. The <br />Committee is recommending amendments to the City Clerk, Utility <br />Billing and Zoning Administrator job descriptions. <br />MAYOR ADAMS MOVED TO APPROVE THE REVISIONS TO <br />THE CITY CLERK/TREASURER, UTILITY BILLING CLERK, AND <br />ZONING ADMINISTRATOR/ASMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT JOB <br />DESCRIPTIONS. COUNCIL MEMBER GARDNER SECONDED <br />THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br />
