North Washington Street Concept Plan Tim Houle presented the Council with a conceptual design layout of North Washington Street. The Council discussed several options to the design. Discussion pursued regarding adding sidewalk on both sides of the street to Oriole Street and to extend parking north using parallel parking. Council Member Pederson suggested eliminating two parking stalls on the east side and use the space as a pedestrian oasis with a bike rack and benches. City Engineer Tim Houle indicated he would revise the conceptual drawing and present it to the Council at the September Council meeting. 9.5. Public Restrooms %;<.. Council Member Sjoblad explained the need for public restrooms to be located in Downtown Pequot Lakes. He suggested contracting with a company using portable outhouses which cost about $105 per month. The Council suggested that it may be worth trying, but noted that they should be screened. COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON MOVED TO PUT TWO PORTABLE OUTHOUSES ONE LOCATED AT THE NORTH END OF TRAILSIDE PARK AND ONE NEAR THE DUMPSTERS AT THE JACKPINE CENTER FOR A TRIAL PERIOD OF TWO MONTHS. COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5- 0. `., ,>.ro,,,; 10. City Clerk's Office 10.1. Job Evaluation Committee Recommendations A. Job Description Amendments The Mayor noted that the Job Evaluation Committee reviews job descriptions each year as part of the budget process. The Committee is recommending amendments to the City Clerk, Utility Billing and Zoning Administrator job descriptions. MAYOR ADAMS MOVED TO APPROVE THE REVISIONS TO THE CITY CLERK/TREASURER, UTILITY BILLING CLERK, AND ZONING ADMINISTRATOR/ASMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT JOB DESCRIPTIONS. COUNCIL MEMBER GARDNER SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0.
