Pequot Lakes Staff Report 3 - 2 <br />April 16, 2015 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Mrs. Funk proposes to provide hair care services, permanent makeup application <br />and massage. She would not have any employees and proposes to be open on a <br />part-time basis by appointment only. Hours of operation would be 9 AM – 7 PM, <br />Monday through Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM on Saturday and closed on Sunday. Mrs. <br />Funk has an injury that prohibits her from doing this type of work fulltime. She <br />anticipates an average of two customers per day. <br /> <br />The property is located in the Shoreline Residential Zoning Classification. The <br />property in the vicinity is zoned Shoreline Residential and Rural Residential. The <br />property is accessed via West Twin Lake Drive. <br /> <br />The property contains a private deep well and a compliant subsurface sewage <br />treatment system. <br /> <br />The application indicates placement of a 9 inch by 13 inch sign at the end of the <br />driveway. The applicant has clarified that this will not be a business sign but <br />rather a personal identification sign similar to “Welcome to the Funks”. <br /> <br />Applicant indicates sufficient parking is available in the driveway or on the north <br />lawn. There will be no more than 2 customer vehicles at one time. <br /> <br /> <br />Applicable Regulations: <br /> <br />Section 17-3.2. DEFINITIONS <br />118. Home Occupation. A use of commercial nature conducted by an <br />occupant entirely within the dwelling or accessory buildings which use is <br />clearly incidental and secondary to the use of the dwelling for residential <br />purposes and does not change the residential character thereof.
