Pequot Lakes Staff Report 7(c) - 3 March 19, 2015 Accessory Structure Size – maximum are: Agriculture – None; Forest Management – None; Rural Residential – 2,000 sf for first 2.5 acres, 1,000 sf for each additional 2.5 acres; Transition Residential – 1,280 sf for first 2.5 acres, 640 for each additional 2.5 acres; Shoreline Residential – 1,280 sf; and Urban Residential – 1,280 sf. There is disparity in the minimum lot area for the Transition Residential zone; the Planning Commission may want to consider reducing the minimum lot area from 10 acres to 5 acres. The Planning Commission may also want to consider removing the maximum limit for accessory structures: Example: 5 acre lot, maximum accessory structure allowed under current Code: Rural Residential: 3,000 sf.
