Council Report — Budget <br />August 20, 2013 <br />--------------------------------� <br />• 2013 — 2014 =$161,471 proposed preliminary levy <br />increase <br />The Council should review the attached budgets prior to the <br />budget meeting on August 20th so that they are familiar <br />with the line item reauests. I have listed below the larger <br />increases (anything over $2,500) that are reflected in the <br />levy funds. <br />Preliminary General Fund Budget Line Items Increases <br />over $2,500 <br />1. Union Employees Wages - The budget reflects a 1.5 <br />percent increase for union employees. <br />2. Non-Union Employees Wages - The budget reflects a <br />2.5% wage increase for non-union employees (one- <br />half step and 1.25% COLA). This increase is <br />recommended by the Job Evaluation Committee. The <br />decision regarding wage increases will ultimately be <br />determined by the City Council. The cost of living <br />according to the Consumer Price Index is currently at <br />2.3%. <br />3. Elections — Wages for judges due to election year <br />4. P&Z - Contract Services - Environmental flyover <br />5. Police — Wages/Benefits — Increase in OT & P.T. <br />officers <br />6. Fire — Contract Services — Increase in fire contract <br />7. R/S — Wages/Benefits — Additional P.T. employee <br />8. R/S — Engineering Fees <br />9. R/S — Increase in Fuel <br />
