ORDINANCE NO. . SECOND SERIES <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE AMENDED JOINT RESOLUTION <br />FOR ORDERLY ANNEXATION BETWEEN THE TOWNSHIP OF SIBLEY <br />AND THE CITY OF PEQUOT LAKES, MINNESOTA <br />RELATING TO REPEAL OF RURAL AND URBAN SERVICE DISTRICT5 <br />CITY OF PEQUOT LAKE5 <br />COUNTY OF CROW WING <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />The City Council of the City of Pequot Lakes does ordain as follows: <br />Purnose and Intent. The purpose and intent of this ordinance is to amend the Amended <br />Joint Resolution for Orderly Annexation between the Township of Sibley and the City of <br />Pequot Lakes, Minnesota relating to equalization and repeal of the rural and the urban <br />service districts within the City of Pequot Lakes. <br />Amendment. The Amended Joint Resolution for Orderly Annexation between the <br />Township of Sibley and the City of Pequot Lakes, Minnesota shall be amended as <br />follows: <br />Section 15 Rural and Urban Service Districts: <br />WHEREAS, the City was divided into an urban service district and a rural service <br />district; <br />WHEREAS, the approximate ratio existed between the benefits resulting from tax <br />supported municipal service to parcels of land of like market value situated in the urban <br />service district and in the rural service district is 2:1, respectively; <br />WHEREAS, in the judgment of the Pequot Lakes City Council, the justification <br />for the division of the City into an urban service district and a rural service district is no <br />longer valid; <br />WHEREAS, in the judgment of the Pequot Lakes City Council, the rural service <br />district lands shall be benefited to the same degree as urban service district lands; <br />NOW THEREFORE, the rural service district shall be equalized to that of the <br />urban service district over three years; thereafter, the division of the City into an urban <br />service district and a rural service district is hereby repealed. <br />Effective Date. This ordinance amendment shall be in full force and effect from and <br />after passage and publication according to state law. <br />Repeal. This ordinance shall repeal all ordinances inconsistent herewith. <br />
