Section 2: Introduction
This emergency response plan was developed with input from LMC, Pequot Lakes
Police Department and the Pequot Lakes Fire Department. The plan was created to
provide the City of Pequot Lakes employees with a set of guidelines they could
follow for emergencies. This plan establishes levels of response as they relate to a
variety of emergency situations.
This booklet anticipates emergency scenarios that may be encountered at any Pequot
Lakes facility. Each section of the plan is set up the same way with instructions for
each individual emergency. Please note that it is impossible to plan for every
scenario, and ernployees should use good sense and knowledge of their work areas.
In each of the scenarios, the magnitude of the emergency first needs to be assessed to
determine how to respond. Emergency personnel (Police or I'ire) who are authorized
to make critical site decisions will evaluate the information at the scene. Employees
are directed to follow the instructions of emergency responders.
It should be noted that this document is only a guide and that employees need to
review this information at their worksites, so the plan can most effectively meet their
needs. Once building-specific fire and evacuation plans are developed, they must be
practiced and communicated to employees through training sessions.
S/sandy documents/city clerk/safety manuals/emergency response pln
