She recommended that the Council <br /> hire Joni O'Donnell as Administrative Assistant effective November 16, <br /> 2015 at Step 1 of the pay scale; moving to Step 2 contingent on a <br /> successful six-month probation. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON MOVED TO HIRE JONI O'DONNELL <br /> AS THE ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT EFFECTIVE NOVEMBER 16, <br /> 2015, TO BEGIN AT STEP ONE OF THE PAY SCALE; MOVING TO <br /> STEP 2 CONTINGENT ON A SUCCESSFUL SIX-MONTH PROBATION. <br /> MAYOR SJOBLAD SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> 10.3. Medicare Supplement Retiree Health Plan <br /> Nancy Malecha informed the Council that according to Minnesota Statute <br /> 471.61-local units of government must allow retirees and dependents to <br /> participate indefinitely to an employer sponsored hospital, medical, and <br /> dental insurance plan. Prior to age 65, retirees would remain on the same <br /> health plan as active employees; however, at age 65 they can be pooled <br /> in a group of Medicare eligible retirees if the City has a plan available. <br /> HealthPartners, through NJPA, offers a Freedom Plan for Medicare <br /> eligible retirees and this would be considered a Medicare supplement <br /> plan. The Freedom Plan would be of no cost to the City as HealthPartners <br /> administers all billing and enrollment information. <br /> MAYOR SJOBLAD MOVED TO AUTHORIZE THE IMPLEMENTATION <br /> OF THE HEALTHPARTNERS FREEDOM MEDICAL AND <br /> PRESCRIPTION DRUG PLAN FOR MEDICARE ELIGIBLE RETIREES <br /> AND DEPENDENTS BEGINNING IN 2016. COUNCIL MEMBER KARR <br /> SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> 10.4. TIF District 1-7 Babinski Decertification <br /> MAYOR SJOBLAD MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 15-30 FOR THE <br /> TERMINATION OF TAX INCREMENT DISTRICT NO. 1-7 AND <br /> DIRECTING DECERTIFICATION THEREOF BY THE COUNTY <br /> AUDITOR. COUNCIL MEMBER PEDERSON SECONDED THE <br /> MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> 11. Other Business <br /> There was no other business. <br /> 12. Adjournment <br />
