COMMISSIONER NAGEL MOVED TO RECOMMEND THAT THE COUNCIL ACCEPT THE PROPOSAL TO PURCHASE THE PARK PROPERTY FROM THE DNR. COMMISSIONER GIBBONS SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-0. Commissioner Nagel thanked Mayor Adams for pursuing the purchase of the park. He noted that the City has been trying to gain ownership of the park for many years and has been unsuccessful. 6. Other Business The Commissioners requested the Clerk to send the park survey results to those who will be attending the Sibley Lake Park meeting. Discussion was held regarding people purchasing the steps for Sibley Lake Park and being allowed to place a memorial on each step that they purchase. Mayor Adams stated that someone wanted to donate money for the Trailside park purchase. The Commission suggested that the donation be made to a splash park instead. Discussion was held regarding locations for the bike rack at Trailside Park. The Commission stated that an earlier discussion had taken place about possibly locating the bike racks on a patio to eliminate the need to weed whip around each rack. It was suggested to place the racks at both ends of the park. It was the consensus of the Commissioners that Mike Loven works with Karen Ettesvold and Josh Gibbons regarding the locations of the bike racks and the fence at Trailside Park. Council Member Tyler Gardner stated that the trees along the Paul Bunyan Trail are out of control and need trimming. He suggested that CLC students could assist and get horticulture credits for the work.
