Crow Wing County
is close to having a draft of the Housing Study that it had
done a few months ago. The City will receive a copy of this
study when it is completed.
At the last Council meeting the City Council made the
following motion:
COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED TO AUTHORIZE STAFF TO WORK
WITH THE DEVELOPER TO BEGIN THE TIF APPLICATION PROCESS.
COUNCIL MEMBER GARDNER SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION
CARRIED 4-0.
Council Action Requested: I believe the developers would
like to know if the City is totally opposed to the idea of tax
increment for an affordable housing project or if they are
open to the concept after hearing a bit more about their
proposal.
