The top two candidates have since started the background <br /> investigation process in addition to pre-employment <br /> physical and drug screening for the first candidate. The <br /> psychological test is scheduled for June 2, 2014. Our <br /> department has been advised that we will have the results <br /> for all tests by June 3, 2014 with the only exception <br /> possibly being the physical drug screening results. <br /> Council Action Requested: Request the Council to <br /> authorize the hiring of the number one candidate for the <br /> position of Police Officer. This conditional offer will be <br /> based upon the receipt of a successful drug screening test. <br /> This officer would start at Step 4: $19.19 per hour. After <br /> the first of the year the officer would receive the same <br /> increase as other union employees based upon the <br /> successful completion of the 6 month probationary period. <br />
