City Council Minutes
April 1, 2024
6. Planning &Zoning
6.1 Letter to Council Re: Request to have Chickens on UR Property
Mayor Gardner says he personally does not have any issues with having
chickens, with the condition of not having roosters. He states the property is
Urban Residential. Council Member Larson states the City of Nisswa recently
went through this change, so she reviewed what they had done. She says it
would need to be a minimum of a half-acre lot and no more than 7 chickens, as
well as no roosters. City Engineer Tim
Houle states after speaking with the State and County, this should be more of a
recording process than anything. Mayor Gardner clarifies that the expense of
getting this completed would be the responsibility of the landowner. Ms. Duus
also says the landowner has already paid into escrow. There is a unanimous
consensus to move forward with the process to vacate right of way.
7. Fire
7.1 Fire District Report
Report provided.
8. Police
8.1 Police Department Report
Report provided for Council review.
8.2 SRO Update
Chief Mike Davis says the Governor has signed the legislation change and we
plan to put an SRO back into the school next school year. Council Member
Pederson inquires of Junior Council Member Rothwell regarding his thoughts of
