Organizational Structure Study - Gary Weiers, David Drown Associates
Gary Weiers from David Drown Associates was present to discuss the
administrator/clerk organizational structure study. Mr. Weiers stated that
the City's current position of clerk/treasurer has evolved in the last several
years to a quasi-administrator position. He explained the three options
presented in the study.
Option 1 is to maintain status quo with the positions in the clerk's
department. Mr. Weiers noted that this option is the least costly and
would save the City approximately $5,000-$10,000 annually because a
new clerk would be hired at a lower hourly rate. The current city
clerk/treasurer job description would change and the City Council would
have added responsibilities.
