City Council Minutes <br />February 5,2024 <br />Page 10 of 1 1 <br />10.4 Wells Farqo Account <br />Ms. Duus states we cunently have funds within Wells Fargo. She says Wells <br />Fargo is no longer a local bank. We are proposing moving those funds to First <br />National Bank with our other accounts with lntraFi programs being reinvested. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER LARSON MOVES TO CLOSE WELLS FARGO <br />ACCOUNTS AND MOVE FUNDS TO FIRST NATIONAL BANK. MAYOR <br />GARDNER SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIES $0. <br />10.5 HireAdministrativeAssistant <br />Ms. Duus advises Council Members we had 28 applicants for the Administrative <br />Assistant position, but only 1 applicant had any sort of law enforcement and/or <br />criminaljustice experience. We invited Julie Meister to an interview last Friday <br />and staff are recommending hiring her at Grade 9, Step 6, with a 3-week <br />va€tion accrual starting. Her start date would be February 20s. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER PEDERSON MOVES TO HIRE JULIE MEISTER AT <br />GRADE 9, STEP 6 wlTH 3 WEEKS VACATION ACCRUAL. COUNCIL <br />MEMBER RONNING SECONDED THE MOTION. <br />Council Member Pederson adds he has worked with Julie in the past and was <br />happy to see she was the one recommended. He adds he knows her work and <br />capabilities and she is a very easy person to get along with. <br />MOTION CARRIES 5-0. <br />10.6 Park Board Aooointment <br />Mayor Gardner advises that we need a motion to reappoint David Lind to the <br />park board, as he didn't realize his term was expiring in time. <br />COUNCIL ME]UIBER PEDERSON II,OVES TO REAPPOINT DAVID LIND TO <br />THE PARK BOARD. COUNCIL MEMBER ]ARSON SECONDED THE <br />iltoTloN. MoTtoN cARRtEs $0. <br />Discussion is openEd regarding the painting of the Bobber Tower, repairs, and <br />the fees that come along with it. Mayor Gardner met with the Chamber of <br />Commerce to discuss their contract to handle the maintenance. He says it was a <br />good meeting and they were willing to put in $10,000 right away and they would <br />head the fundraising for the remainder of the funds. Nicole from the Chamber of <br />Commerce states the estimate for just the painting of the tower would be roughly <br />$71,000. <br />10.7 Bobber Tower. Park. EDC - Franchise Fees
