To whom this may concern;
Our names are Melissa and Josh Rosemore. We are current residents in the city of Pequot Lakes, last
month I had called to pay my bill for that month and the woman that answered the phone had informed
me that we had over excessive water usage for the next bill to follow. I stated that had been odd
because we are not using any more water than we normally do. She told me that we had used 37,000
(thousand)gallons of water. I told her there had to be some mistake my average bill is 3200
gallons. She claimed there was no mistake. I asked her what we could do because I'm not going to be
paying a$600.00 water bill when I know for a fact we did not use even close to that. She then told me
that the only thing that she could do was send someone out to check our meter again and that we
would have to write a letter to the city. About 30 minutes later a woman named Janet had come to
check the meter and check for leaking. The meter did match what they had for a read, but it is
impossible to use that much water in 30 days. I was also told that day I called that someone was sent
out last week to check the meter and no one came to check. The first person to check for issues inside
was Janet a week after someone noticed this outrageous jump. We are thinking the meter skipped a
zero, but apparently according to the woman that I talked to that could not happen. I would appreciate
if someone would look into this instead of sending someone an outrageous water bill that you yourself
know is impossible in 30 days to use that much water. With 2 adults that work full time and two young
children. We estimated on average how many gallons of water an average person using just to take a
shower and do the math according to the bill you would have to take around 2200 showers in 1 month
to reach those numbers. That is a company's water bill, not a family of four that use 100-150 gallons in a
day. I would appreciate if this would get looked into as soon as possible and that I be contacted with
any further questions you may have for me about this and follow up with the results. Melissa-
,—
Thank you.
Melissa Rosemore
I pF
1 k /i
