New Business <br /> <br />The question was asked if Mondays remain a good day to hold the Planning <br />Commission meetings. The Commission stated they’d like to keep the meetings <br />on Mondays, as most can make that night work. <br /> <br />6. Old Business <br /> <br /> Nothing at this time. <br /> <br />7. Approval of Minutes <br /> <br /> COMMISSION MEMBER ELLERING MOVED TO ACCEPT/APPROVE THE <br />JANUARY 22,2024 MINUTES AS IS. COMMISSION MEMBER E.LARSON <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />8. Planning & Zoning Administrator’s Updates <br /> 8.1 Staff Reports/Process for 2024 (Thomas) <br /> Thomas talked about processes and discussing findings of fact for applications <br />coming through, ultimately having the Commission review both sides (reasons to <br />approve and deny) and make their decision based on the answers to the <br />questions, this way an applicant can see why they were approved/denied vs. just <br />hearing it. Commission members stated they’d prefer to work through the <br />applications together vs. the report coming in with a decision already made for <br />them on paper. Members stated they work well together and are happy to hear <br />we’re going in the direction we are. Thomas reiterated that this process helps folx <br />understand the process, and it’s good to have municipalities provide reasonings <br />for a denial, when/if that is the outcome of an application. He also stated that he’s <br />available to hold a session for those interested in hearing more on the processes <br />for Planning Commissions and the Planning and Zoning Land Use. <br /> <br /> 8.2 Zoning Administrator’s Monthly Report <br /> Traci stated calls continue to come through and permits are being issued. In <br />March the Planning Commission will have a few applications to work through. <br />Pederson also noted she’s working through city violations, going out to look at <br />four this week. <br /> <br /> 8.3 Access to city email, process to update if having issues <br /> If Commission members are continuing to have issues with their city emails, <br />there’s some troubleshooting pieces we can work through at the city level – if that <br />doesn’t work, we’ll need to have the Commission member work directly with IT. <br />It’s best to use city email vs. personal emails. <br /> <br />9.
