AGENDA ITEM # 10.1

REPORT TO CITY COUNCIL

Report Prepared by: Emily Johnson

Date: March 4, 2024

Subject: Administration Report

Report: Administration continues to be an active place. But our staff are
always up to welcoming a challenge and are great at keeping things moving in a
productive and positive direction.

• Our latest addition to administration, Julie, has been settling in well. We can
already see the huge improvements to our work balance in the two weeks
that she has been here. Training is a continuous thing as we settle into our
roles and duties and also learn from each other. Everyone works well
together and contributes so many great ideas.
• The transition of the Fire District remains ongoing. But conversations about
the next steps in getting accounts set up, independent financial software, etc.
were discussed at the last Fire District Board Meeting. The process is slower
moving that initially anticipated, however, we will keep you updated with
any new developments.
• The police department remodel is really taking shape. The walls are now
painted, and the flooring, cabinets, and counters will be installed soon. You
can really start to envision how well this transformed space will be for all of
us and the community.
• Presidential Nomination Primary Elections are March 5th, so we have been
busy organizing staff/judges and getting prepared for those.
• Angie and Emily are finishing up 2023 financials and are preparing for our
upcoming audit the week of March 11th. They will also both be attending the
clerks conference the week of March 19th.

Council Action Requested: No Council action requested.
