P Cityof � equot/ I\ Lakes =-AGENDA ITEM # 8.6 <br />REPORT TO CITY COUNCIL <br />Report Prepared by: Mike Davis, PLPD Chief <br />Date: March 4, 2024 <br />Subiect: Donated Funds for Equipment Upgrades <br />Report: The police department would like to use $4,500 of funds that were <br />donated to the city general fund. The funds would be used to buy armor plates for <br />officer's duty issued bullet resistant vests. The cost for the armor plates is <br />$5,365.56. Chief Davis is then requesting to use forfeiture funds to cover the <br />remainder of the cost of $865.56. Chief Davis and the Police Department would <br />like to thank Beth and John Mederios of Pequot Lakes for their personal donation <br />to use towards the plates. <br />Council Action Requested: Council motion to approve the use of $4,500 in <br />donations to the general fund and forfeiture funds to pay the remaining cost of the <br />armor plates.
