Pe not
Lakes
Water/Wastewater Report — January 2024
Water S,.,stem Flows for December:
Average Daily Gallons Pumped: 118,000 gallons
Total Monthly Gallons Pumped: 3,531,000 gallons
Wastewater SN stem Flows for December:
Average Daily Flow: 71,002 gallons (Design: 121,795 GPD)
Total Monthly Flow: 2,201,055 gallons
Operations Report
Peguot Lakes:
• Daily water treatment plant and wastewater collection system inspections were completed.
• Wastewater pond and lift station checks were completed periodically, and lift station
monthly preventative maintenance was performed on 1/10.
• Weekly water testing for MDH was completed.
• Water meters were read on 1/23.
• All monthly regulatory reporting was completed. The MDH Fluoride Report and MPCA
monthly DMR were submitted on 1/2. The MN DNR Annual Water Use Report was also
submitted, along with the City's Annual Water Conservation Report. Traci and I completed
the City's MPCA SSTS Annual Report in early January.
• The lack of snow removal this year has allowed me to get caught up on some minor repairs
and projects in the water treatment plant and garage that I've been wanting to get to since
last winter.
• Work has started on compiling records for the City's Lead Service Line Inventory.
Minnesota Rural Water Association provided a template notice to send out to residents on
the City's water system advising them to take a picture of their water service and send to
city staff. Emily made some adjustments to the template and put together a really nice
notification that she shared on the City's Facebook page and also included a copy with the
water bills that went out in early January. We have gotten a really good response so far,
and I'm planning on sending out one more notice with the next billing cycle. I'll probably
give residents until mid -March to send us their information and then start going door to
door to wrap up any remaining services.
Lake Shore:
• Quality Flow Systems will be installing two new raw sewage pumps in the Causeway lift
station on 1/3 1.
• Brian was called out for a STEP station alarm in late January. He was able to get the
station working again temporarily until I could pick up a new compression coupling and
make the repair.
Respectfully Submitted by Andy Schwartz, Water/Wastewater Operations Manager, City of
Pequot Lakes.
