AGENDA ITEM # 8.5

REPORT TO CITY COUNCIL

Report Prepared by: Mike Davis, PLPD Chief

Date: February 5th, 2024

Subject: Community Policing Recognition

Report: On January 22nd, 2024, Officer Johnson was dispatched to a medical
where a lift assist was required to get an elderly female off the floor and back into
her chair. Officer Johnson got the elderly female back into her chair. North
Ambulance arrived and it was determined that no care was needed.

On January 29th the elderly female’s husband called dispatch and requested Officer
Johnson to stop by their residence. The husband appreciated Officer Johnson’s
assistance and presented him with a homemade pie. That same night Officer
Johnson sent out a text to the officers of the department mentioning what
happened. In the text Officer Johnson said, “I didn’t do a whole lot. Sharing
because we have an awesome community that supports us.”

This goes to show our officers love what they do and care for the community they
work for.

Council Action Requested: No council action requested.
