Planning Commission Minutes <br />January 22, 2024 <br />Page 4of5 <br />This is Ordinance Amendment 24-01 modifying Chapter 17, "Land Use (Zoning) <br />and Subdivision Regulations" regarding residential accessory structures. This is <br />to not require a permit for accessory structures totally no more than 160 feet in <br />residential zones. Also removing the maximum building height requirement for <br />accessory structures — in the current ordinance it's 13 feet — wanting to remove it <br />to 25 feet tall in shoreline residential zone. The DNR asked that we include the <br />language `excluding guest cottages' which is technically an accessory structure <br />as those are limited to 15 feet in height. Again, all of this was stated previously <br />and was recommended to bring it to the Council for final approval, we're just <br />doing all processes again to make sure it's done properly and officially. <br />COMMISSION MEMBER ELLERING MOTIONED TO APPROVE THE <br />ORDINANCE AMENDMENT. New Business <br />No new business. <br />7 Old Business <br />Trailside Estates Update provided by Justin B. just as an FYI for the Planning <br />Commission on where things are at this time. The Commission approved the <br />preliminary and final plats, and was then approved by Council. We've recently <br />found out the final plat was never recorded. The City will need to contact all <br />current landowners in Trailside and rerun the plat with the new owners. This is <br />more of an FYI, letting you know you'll likely see this topic again in the next <br />month or two. We won't have to go through the full process again, working with <br />the City Attorney to ensure we're moving forward. <br />8.
