City Council Minutes
January2, 2024
planned to have two faces and switch out twice per year and before he would say
yes to anything more than approving the dollar amount, we need to figure out
who is going to be responsible between Council and EDC. Council Member
Pederson doesn't want to get into making decisions that should have been made
by the EDC, etc. Discussion ensues on what the EDC can do, which is make the
recommendation, but Council would then approve it.
Mayor Gardner suggested they make a motion to approve the dollar amount and
get this over to the EDC right away, so they can keep this moving.
COUNCIL MEMBER PEDERSON MOVES TO APPROVE $1,550 FOR THE
SOUTH SIDE OF THE BILLBOARD. COUNCIL MEMBER RONNING
SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-0.
5.2. EDC Update
Council Member Pederson, EDC Liaison, updates on EDC stating there has
been an offer to purchase the entirety of the lots in Trailside Estates versus the
City having to sell lots individually. It is still being discussed and the EDC still
needs to make up their mind on how they want to proceed. It would be up to
them to make a strong recommendation regarding the current offer.
Council Member Pederson states we need to have the City Planner involved in
these decisions, as he was blindsided and was not aware that the property was
for sale. Mayor Gardner clarifies that the EDC was working on pursuing options
when the current offer came to them at the EDC meeting.
5.3. Park Update
No update or report provided.
6. Planning & Zoning
6.1. Planning Commission Report
Report provided.
6.2.
