He also says it is a specified target, of our local <br />community, but also helps the radio station to be able to continue to provide this <br />service for our school, students, and families. <br />Commission Hallan asks for examples of other cities that have done something <br />like this. Mr. Krueger states Crosby -Ironton School uses it to simply broadcast a <br />message of support to the sports teams. It is added they also use it to ask for <br />community input or to advertise events happening locally. He states monetary <br />amounts are based on 50 games for the season. Within that package we would <br />get a minimum of one ad for every single game, that is broadcasted. Mr. Krueger <br />states the feedback for what has been done in the past is phenomenal, but he <br />doesn't have exact numbers for the numbers of subscribers or viewers. <br />9. Workforce Housing <br />Mark Jurchen presents information of Trailside Estates market and tax analysis. <br />He wanted to provide the valuations to give everyone and idea of where <br />everything is sitting. He states the offer from the developer tonight really isn't a <br />bad offer when you look at it. <br />Discussion ensues of how that would play out. Selling the lots to the developers <br />is instant revenue to the city. However, if sold individually, they are not going to <br />sell that quickly so would not be revenue as quickly, but still revenue to the city in <br />the future. <br />10. EDC Goals <br />No updates. <br />11. BLAEDC Update <br />Tyler Glynn states they have term expirations on their board. He provided information <br />on the prospective new members they are considering adding to their board. <br />Mr. Glynn brings a discussion of an entrepreneur program that has been sponsored by <br />BLAEDC at both Brainerd and Pequot Lakes high schools. He talks about the things <br />they cover and that they encourage students to attend a University of St. Thomas <br />program that encourages future entrepreneurs. <br />12. Expiring Commissions December 31, 2023 <br />Commission Holley's term is expiring at the end of this month. She intends on <br />completing an updated application for appointment and would like to remain on <br />the EDC Commission. <br />13. Calendar for 2024, EDC attendance at City Council Meetings <br />Chair Lottman expresses that he is happy to have a member attend monthly <br />Council Meetings.
