PEQUOT LAKES PARK COMMISSION THURSDAY, OCTOBER 10, 2013 CITY HALL Members Present: Chair Malecha, Commissioners Bruch, and Ettesvold. Members Absent: Commissioner Nagel and Gibbons Also Present: Sandy Peine, City Clerk; and Mike Loven, Public Works Supervisor; Council Member Tyler; Mayor Adams 1. Call Meeting to Order Chair Malecha called the meeting to order at 4:05 p.m. 2. Consider Agenda MOTION BY COMMISSIONER BRUCH AND SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER ETTESVOLD TO APPROVE THE AGENDA. MOTION CARRIED 3-0. 3. Park Commission Minutes COMMISSIONER BRUCH MOVED TO APPROVE THE 9/12/2013 PARK COMMISSION MINUTES. COMMISSIONER ETTESVOLD SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 3-0. 4. Splash Park Chair Malecha informed the Commission that the Council authorized the Park Commission to move forward with funding for the splash park. Chair Malecha is searching for grants and donations for the project. She noted that the project will not happen if the money is not raised. 5. Sibley Lake Park – Dog Park Update Dave Lind from Sibley Lake Association was present. He addressed the Park Commission with concerns of the Sibley Lake Park. He noted that the Sibley Lake Association has formed a Lake Improvement District. They have some funds available and are contemplating whether they should use the funds for Sibley Lake Park. The Sibley Lake Park Association has replaced the bottom of the steps at the park but the rest of the steps are in major need of repair. They would like to help update the park but want to ensure that the steps will be replaced. He explained that the Association wants to be informed of what the City’s intent is regarding upgrading the park. Chair Malecha explained that the commission is currently working with a group of volunteers to build a dog park at Sibley Lake Park. She stated
