MINUTES FROM THE <br />PEQUOT LAKES PARK COMMISSION <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />THURSDAY, MAY 7, 2013 <br />CITY HALL <br /> <br /> <br />Members Present: Chair Malecha, Commissioners, Ettesvold, Bruch, and <br />Gibbons <br /> <br />Members Absent: Commissioner Nagel <br /> <br />Also Present: Sandy Peine, City Clerk; Nancy Adams, Mayor; Tyler <br />Gardner, Council Member; Dawn Bittner, Zoning Assistant; <br />Chuck Marohn and Justin Burslie, Community Growth; Mike <br />Loven, Public Works Supervisor; Officer Rich Hogan; Jacob <br />Nygren, Neighbor <br /> <br />1. Sibley Park <br /> <br /> The Commissioners met at Sibley Lake Park to discuss the future of the <br />park. <br /> <br /> Playground Equipment <br />• The existing equipment could be repaired and cleaned up a bit <br />• Consideration to possibly adding some new equipment <br />• Consideration to adding the new equipment to another park instead <br /> <br /> Sell the Park? <br />• The park is under-utilized and over-vandalized <br /> <br />Develop the Park <br />• Develop the property (Chuck Marohn) <br />• Work with Developer – City offers land and developer constructs <br />condominiums or other type of housing facing the lake <br />• Chuck Marohn talked about the neighborhood in relationship to the <br />park <br /> <br /> Light Posts <br />• Move light posts away from the road to widen the roadway <br />• Bury light posts underground <br /> <br /> Steps <br />• Eliminate the steps <br />• Use switchback pathways to access the lake <br />• Remove bottom steps first (phased-in approach) <br /> <br />Dog Park <br />• Use part of the park for a dog park
