Park Board Minutes <br />July 10,2014 <br />Page 2 <br />6. Park Commission Members <br />The City Clerk introduced Dan and Mary Ronning. She explained that they have <br />submitted an application for the Park Commission. <br />7. Mavo Lake Park Open House <br />The Clerk stated that the open house is set for: <br />Date: September 27th <br />Time: 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. <br />Refreshments: Hot Dogs, Chips and Soda, Cookies <br />The Commission decided to move the date to Sunday, September 21st <br />7.5. Plannino Commission - Downtown Plan <br />The Clerk noted that the Planning Commission is meeting at the south parking lot <br />at Trailside Park at 6:00 p.m. on July 17th to discuss Trailside Park in relation to <br />the Downtown Plan. The Planning Commission is in the process of updating the <br />Downtown Plan. The Park Commission decided to call a special meeting so that <br />members of the Park Commission can attend. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER GIBBONS MOVED TO CALL A SPECIAL COUNCIL <br />MEETING FOR THE FOLLOWING DATES: <br />1. JULY 17,2014 AT 5:00 PM. TO MEET WITH PLAYGROUND <br />REPRESENTATIVES AND TO MEET WITH THE PLANNING COMMISSION <br />TO DISCUSS THE TRAILSIDE PARK IN RELATION TO THE UPDATE OF <br />THE DOWNTOWN PLAN. <br />2. SEPTEMBER 21 ,2014 AT 12:00 NOON TO HOLD AN OPEN HOUSE <br />AT THE MAYO LAKE PARK PRESERVE. <br />COMMISSION ETTESVOLD SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION <br />CARRIED 4.0. <br />8. Doq Park Update <br />Mike Loven informed the Commission that the site location at Sibley Lake Park <br />for the Dog Park is too small. A new area has been suggested at the city <br />property located at the water tower. The Commission moved to the water tower <br />site. Mike Loven had staked out an area for the dog park. The Commission <br />concurred that the water tower property would be a better location due to size for <br />the dog park.
