City
Pett ?__ AGENDA ITEM #5.1
Lakes—
REPORT TO
CITY COUNCIL
Report Prepared by: Sandy Peine, City Clerk
Date: March 24, 2015
Subiect: Amended Proposal for Engineering Services on Row
Irrigation Design and Permitting
Report: At the March 3rd Council meeting the Council was
presented with a proposal for Engineering Services for the design
of Row irrigation, wastewater improvements, and permitting
assistance. The Council approved the proposal at $112,000.
Mike Loven requested the Engineer to submit an amended
proposal. The amended proposal eliminates engineering design
work on components of the existing wastewater system. (The exact
items that are eliminated are listed on the amended proposal: Items
#1 — 6). Mike Loven is recommending that the Council focus on
designing the Row irrigation system at this time. The estimated
cost of the Row irrigation system is 1.1 million dollars. MnDOT
will be giving the City $506,000 to put toward this system.
Mike Loven is recommending that the improvements listed in
Items 1-6 on the Engineering proposal, which are basically repair
of components to the existing system, be completed in the future as
time and funding allow. The estimated cost to make the
improvements to the existing system is $700,000.
