City Council Minutes
December 4, 2023
-----------------------------

included publicizing testimonies of people moving and living here in hopes to
promote young families and be able to market properties.

Tyler Glynn updates on the website portion and how that would work. They are
still vetting through some of the process, but he states they know that they have
the resources to keep everything up to date so they can really understand as
they move through, what the real needs of the EDC would be and hopefully save
costs to the City. He also states they do have staff that are knowledgeable and
could keep the site functioning properly and current.

5.3. Park Update

Nancy Adams updates on the Park Board. She states they have not heard any
more on the tree grants. It’s said the word out there is that we have received both
grants that we have applied for, in some way or another. She states both her and
Nick have participated in some training for the tree Ash Disease. It is now more
important to get the tree study done, which is the first part of the tree grants.

Ms. Adams states they are concerned about the dismantled dam on the south
end of Mayo Lake. She says the culverts have been cleaned and that did help
the water levels.

Ms. Adams says Sibley Park still has graffiti, but it will not be completed fixed
until Spring. Mayor Gardner inquires on a temporary fix and if it is temporarily
covered up.

Ms. Adams states the holiday lighting in Trailside Park looks great. Santa’s
Bobbin into Town is this Saturday and hoping to have all members present if
possible.

Ms. Adams thanks public works staff for their help in getting everything ready and
for their assistance in getting the parade float trailers and use of space to work
on them.

6. Planning & Zoning

6.1. Planning Commission Report

Report provided.

6.2. Ottman Rezone Rural Residential to Shoreline Residential

Mayor Garder states all that is needed is a motion to approve the amendment to
rezone a portion of the property at 4412 Jackpine Drive, from rural residential to
shoreline residential, based on the twelve findings of fact recommended by the
planning commission.

COUNCIL MEMBER PEDERSON MOVES TO APPROVE THE AMENDMENT
TO REZONE A PORTION OF THE PROPERT AT 4412 JACKPINE DRIVE.
