COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br /> Pequot Lakes Police <br /> Department Head Range of Duties: <br /> • Plans, organizes,directs,sets goals, and reviews the operations of the Police Department. <br /> • Reviews daily reports made by officers to determine activity in the community, potential <br /> problems,thoroughness and accuracy,and plans accordingly. <br /> • Creates Positive Community Relations through public presentations and building strong <br /> relationships with business community and residents. <br /> • Actively cooperates with other public agencies and communities in support of law Enf. <br /> • Attend regional and state chiefs of police meetings and city council meetings. <br /> • Oversees policies, procedures,standards for the dept. <br /> • Act as the city's emergency management director. <br /> • Please see the chief's job description for a comprehensive list of duties. <br /> Current Projects for the department: <br /> • Developing and action plan to have all officers trained in first responder, EMT cert <br /> • Developing a bus safety security student to ride on each school bus <br /> • Stream lining report submissions per state mandate <br /> • Updating and keeping current our website <br /> • Outfitting new squad for duel purpose police and fire <br /> • Preparing for sale of forfeiture vehicles <br /> Mid-Range Department Plans(five): <br /> • Exploring information for opportunities to share resources in the future <br /> • Devolving a training schedule for state mandated training <br /> • Seal coating garage floor <br /> • Replace carpet <br /> • Officer walk through at our rental housing units <br /> • Conduct customer surveys <br /> Long-Range Department Plan (ten): <br /> • Look for technology enhancements that are next generation technology <br /> • To have a technology training center <br /> • Replace key doors with card access proximity cards <br /> • Addition of one sworn FTE <br /> Department Dreams: <br />
