PEQUOT PROMOTERS <br /> MINUTES OF DECEMBER 4, 2014 <br /> Present: Nancy Adams, Kathy Bittner Lee, Ellie Brandt, Jenna Crawford, Pat Dittes, <br /> Katie Embree,Jean Kraft, Corky Ledoux, Cathy Malecha, Molly Nelson, <br /> Carol Park, Scott Pederson, Sandy Peine, Cindy Rieck,Amy Sjoblad, Dave <br /> Sjoblad,Todd Wiedell, Kimberly Ziesemer <br /> President Kathy Bitner Lee called the meeting to order at the Pequot Lakes Library. <br /> 1. City Update: Dave Sjoblad,the newly elected Mayor, and City Clerk Sandy Peine <br /> gave the City update. The 2015 budget was passed by the Council at their recent <br /> meeting. Because the Highway 371 project had been moved forward,a committee is <br /> working diligently on the sewer pond dilemma. Councilman Tyler Gardner has <br /> resigned as of December 31, 2014, due to a move to Little Falls. His position will be <br /> advertised and letters of interest are being accepted by the City until December 26. <br /> Anyone who is interested should immediately send in their letter of interest. Don't <br /> forget,there is no parking on city streets until March 31; cars will be towed. The <br /> Downtown Plan has been passed; this is a guide for the downtown area and will be <br /> implemented as money becomes available. The Dog Park is open and was in use by <br /> a number of people&dogs prior to the snow. Benches,trees,and other items will <br /> be added in the spring. <br /> 2. Community Action: Kimberly Ziesemers reminded everyone that Saturday, <br /> December 13,is the Santa's Bobbin' Into Town event with the culminating Light Up <br /> The Night Parade at 6 p.m. Call Barb Merritt (568-4695) to sign up for a float. It is <br /> free and a wonderful opportunity for free advertising. Groups,large and small,are <br /> also encouraged to join the parade. Get some light sticks at the Dollar Store and join <br /> in the fun! Events start at 2:30 p.m.with a veterans'wreath ceremony at Our <br /> Saviors Lutheran Church's parking lot,followed by a entire afternoon of events. <br /> Posters, fliers,and handouts were available. Many thanks to the Chamber for having <br /> banners made for the event. It was mentioned that the Legion was not hosting a <br /> Santa's Breakfast this year. If you need information,call Barb. <br /> 3. Chamber News: moved to the end of the meeting. <br /> 4. Going around the table: Molly mentioned that business had been good, Carol <br /> Park said that Block Party over hunting weekend was successful. They are looking <br /> and have received ideas to make it even better. Corky said business was good over <br /> Thanksgiving but they are waiting for spring. Cindy introduced Ellie,her student <br /> intern, and mentioned that Carrie, her new physical therapist was working out well. <br /> Jean said Taste of the Lakes went very well,with lots of money raised. January <br /> through March there is a heavy push for mentors. Todd said they moved August 1 to <br /> their new location (the former Beautiful Antiques) and it has been a good move. <br /> Dave said we need to get Pequot more on the minds or outsiders - develop a <br />
