There is a need for a community resource hub in which partner organizations can office to <br />provide direct services to our friends and neighbors, and there is a commitment on the part of <br />many to do exactly that. Board members used this broad -based community feedback to inform <br />their strategic planning discussions and decisions - and identified the following strategic <br />direction: <br />✓ Our core program will remain a food shelf, however we will progress into becoming a <br />community resource center (2023 — 2025). <br />✓ We will partner with existing county services, nonprofits, and others to develop a solid <br />network of direct service providers to help address barriers of our friends and neighbors. <br />✓ We will expand our building to accommodate private office space; a conference room for <br />meetings and trainings; a resource library with computers/Wi-Fi access, a phone -charging <br />station; greater storage and shopping areas. <br />✓ Tim Houle, Crow Wing County Administrator and Crow Wing County Social Services, <br />Bridges of Hope, local School Social Workers, mental health professionals, Cuyuna <br />Regional Medical Center, Legal Aid, University of MN. and more are in support of <br />LAFS developing a "Community Resource Hub". <br />MISSION AND CORE VALUES <br />With the progression to a community resource center, came a refined mission, vision, and core values: <br />4. Mission - to serve as a trusted community resource by helping our friends and neighbors become <br />hunger free and attain a healthy life. <br />1 Vision — We served friends and neighbors in a time of need, and many are now able to help <br />others. <br />I Core Values. We are: <br />➢ Non judgmental to all who seek assistance <br />➢ Approachable for all <br />➢ Principled in our service delivery and decision -making <br />➢ Respected Stewards of resources <br />4- We will: <br />➢ Serve with integrity and transparency <br />➢ Embrace change <br />➢ Recognize and celebrate every individual <br />➢ Treat all with dignity and respect <br />➢ Understand our responsibility to community <br />➢ Partner with others to help our friends and neighbors <br />➢ Be a credible source of information and resource <br />HOURS OF OPERATION <br />�- Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9 a.m. to Noon <br />4- Wednesdays, 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. <br />-1- We offer inside service, in addition to drive -up. <br />I We offer home delivery. <br />WHO USES THE FOOD SHELF? <br />4. Seniors, living solely on social security. An unexpected health condition has put them in <br />financial peril <br />Working parents, with rent increasing by 30 to 50% <br />1 Grandparents who suddenly find themselves caring for their grandchildren <br />4- Adult children who move their parents and grandparents into their homes to care for them <br />2 <br />
