City Council Minutes <br /> October 7, 2014 <br /> Page 8 of 8 <br /> The City Clerk reviewed the proposed sign policy for the community sign. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED TO APPROVE THE POLICY <br /> FOR THE COMMUNITY SIGN. COUNCIL MEMBER GARDNER <br /> SECONDED THE MOTION. <br /> Council Member Akerson questioned why the sign was not used to <br /> promote or advertise events for businesses? It was noted that the main <br /> purpose of the sign is to promote community events. Council Member <br /> Akerson also questioned why the sign was not used to promote <br /> fundraisers for individuals. The Clerk noted that the sign is not large <br /> enough to accommodate all requests. <br /> THE MOTION CARRIED 4-1. COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON VOTED <br /> AGAINST THE MOTION. <br /> 11. Other Business <br /> There was no other business. <br /> 12. Adjournment <br /> There being no further business, COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED <br /> TO ADJOURN THE MEETING. COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON <br /> SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> The meeting of the City Council adjourned. At 7:52 p.m. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> Sandra A.
