Council Member Oraskovich stated that this is a very tough <br /> decision especially at this time of the year. <br /> Discussion was held by the Council regarding the need to reorganize and <br /> to begin reviewing revenues and expenditures in the water/wastewater <br /> department more closely. Council Member Ryan suggested offering Gary <br /> Giltner four weeks of his wage. <br /> Council Member Nagel questioned if Mike Loven has considered the <br /> change in job duties and the impact that this would have on his life. Mike <br /> Loven noted that he has done this before and knows what the job consists <br /> of. Mike also stated that he would recommend keeping Tina Nolden as the <br /> licensed operator and to continue the joint agreement with Pine River. <br /> Council Member Sjoblad stated that the City should try the reorganization <br /> for a year and then re-evaluate it at that time. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER ORASKOVICH MOVED TO REORGANIZE THE <br /> WATER/WASTEWATER AND STREET/BUILDINGS/PARKS <br /> DEPARTMENTS UNDER ONE PUBLIC WORKS SUPERVISOR WITH <br /> MIKE LOVEN CHANGING HIS JOB DESCRIPTION FROM STREET <br /> SUPERVISOR TO PUBLIC WORKS SUPSERVISOR AND BY <br /> ELIMINATING THE POSITION OF WATER/WASTEWATER <br /> SUPERVISOR HELD BY GARY GILTNER AND PAYING GARY <br /> GILTNER ONE MONTH WAGE THROUGH JANUARY 6, 2008. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br /> CARRIED 5-0. <br /> The Council noted to Gary Giltner that this was a hard decision. <br /> 9. Adjournment <br /> There being no further business, COUNCIL MEMBER ORASKOVICH <br /> MOVED TO ADJOURN. COUNCIL MEMBER NAGEL SECONDED THE <br /> MOTION.
