Road 11 <br /> Pequot Lakes, MN 56472 <br /> Dear Mayor Malecha and Pequot Lakes City Council Members, <br /> Thanks to your support, BLADC has assisted with more than 300 economic development projects <br /> resulting in over 3,000 jobs and investments exceeding $250 million in Crow Wing County. As you <br /> know, the success of BLADC is, in large part, due to governmental units working in partnership with <br /> private business toward a brighter economic development future for our area. Recognizing that you <br /> are at the stage of considering your 2008 budget, we respectfully request that you consider funding <br /> BLADC $7,425 as follows: <br /> BLADC's Operating Needs — Increase your annual contribution from $6,575 to $6,775. This will <br /> provide funding so BLADC can continue to offer quality economic development services as follows: <br /> • Implement Business Retention and Expansion Programs <br /> • Promote and Market the Brainerd Lakes Area to Attract Business <br /> • Coordinate and Manage Business Proposals and Inquiries <br /> • Assist with Site Location Options <br /> • Structure and Package Financial Programs <br /> • Provide Technical and Business Planning Assistance <br /> • Facilitate and Coordinate Government Resources and Processes <br /> • Support Community Development Initiatives <br /> Enhanced Marketing and Special Projects — Increase your annual contribution from $625 to $650 <br /> for special projects including the 2020 Economic Development Program. BLADC is committed to <br /> economic growth and has developed a strategy for growth which includes implementing components <br /> of the 2020 Work Plan and attracting healthcare and manufacturing companies. <br /> Please advise if you would like a BLADC representative to meet with you to discuss our funding <br /> request.
