Also enclosed is an explanation of LMCIT's declared dividend of$4 million for the Property/Casualty Program. Effective July 1,2009,the Minnesota statutory liability limits will increase to $500,000 per claimant and$1.5 million per occurrence. LMCIT will automatically increase liability coverage limits to reflect this statutory change.This coverage limit increase will be handled in three steps: 1. All coverage written or renewed between Nov. 15,2008 -June 30, 2009, will be issued with a$1.2 million per occurrence limit for claims incurred before July 1, 2009,and a$1.5 million limit for claims incurred on or after that date. 2. All coverage written on or after July 1,2009,will be issued with a$1.5 million per occurrence limit. 3. All coverage written between July 1 -Nov. 15, 2008,will be endorsed to increase the coverage limit to$1.5 million per occurrence effective July 1,2009. This endorsement will be issued automatically and no additional premium will be charged. The employer's liability coverage aggregate limit for Workers' Compensation will increase to $1.5 million for all coverage written or renewed on or after January 1, 2009. The increase also applies to all in-force coverage. More information on these and other changes can be found in the enclosed materials.
