CROWWING MEMORANDUM <br /> COUNTY <br /> �- M I N N ES O TA Office of the Crow Wing County Attorney <br /> Donald F.Ryan,County Attorney <br /> Crow Wing County Judicial Center <br /> 213 laurel Street,Suite 31,Brainerd,MN 56401 <br /> Phone•.218-824-1025 Fax:218-824-1026 <br /> Email:attomey.officeoa crowwing.us <br /> TO: Crow Wing County Chief s Association <br /> FROM: Don Ryan,County Attorney <br /> DATE: August 23,2023 <br /> SUBJECT: Adult-Use Cannabis:Criminal and Juvenile Prosecution <br /> 0 342.01 - Adult-Use Cannabis Law <br /> • Entirely NEW Chapter. <br /> • 21 and older may possess or transport up to: <br /> o 2 ounces of cannabis flower, <br /> o 8 grams of concentrate,and <br /> o 800 milligrams of edible product(including lower-potency hemp-derived product). <br /> • 21 and older may possess up to two pounds of cannabis flower inside private residence. <br /> • 21 and older can grow up to eight cannabis plants,with no more than four being mature. <br /> o Plants must be grown in an enclosed,locked space that is not open to public view. <br /> Limitations on Cannabis Use: <br /> • Cannabis can be used by people 21 and older on private property,private residences,and places with <br /> approved licenses or event permit. <br /> • Cannabis cannot be used when operating a motor vehicle. <br /> • Cannabis cannot be used or possessed in the following locations: <br /> • Public school or charter schools and school buses <br /> • State correctional facilities <br /> • In a location where the smoke,aerosol or vapor of a cannabis product could be inhaled by a <br /> minor <br /> • On federal property(such as courthouses,airports and national parks) <br /> • Smoking cannabis is prohibited anywhere smoking commercial tobacco is prohibited. <br /> • Smoking or vaping adult-use cannabis products is prohibited in a multifamily housing building. <br /> • Public Place Prohibitions <br /> o Local government may adopt ordinances to prohibit the use of cannabis in public <br /> Our Vision: Being Minnesota's favorite place. <br /> Our Mission:Serve well.Deliver value.Drive results. <br /> Our Values: Be responsible.Treat people right.Build a better future. <br />
