City Council Minutes
July 1, 2008
Page 7of10
Council Member Nagel had some questions relating to procedure. He was
informed that at this time the City of Pequot Lakes and Jenkins Township
has not filed any annexation papers with the State; however, the City of
Jenkins has filed intent to annex. Council Member Nagel indicated that it
seems clear that many residents want us to slow down the process and he
stated he would not feel comfortable forcing citizens to annex if it is not
their will.
Council Member Sjoblad noted that the issue seems to be the inability of
the opposition to explain what they actually would like to see happen and
why they are not in support of the annexation to Pequot Lakes.
