Park Commission Minutes <br /> July 14,2022 <br /> Page 2 <br /> meeting day change to the Fourth Monday of the month at 5 pm in the <br /> downstairs meeting room. <br /> Ms. Peterson read an email from Tom Beaver regarding Mayo Park Preserve. <br /> Commission asked Ms. Peterson to get a map from Tom and they will discuss at <br /> the August meeting. <br /> Ms. Peterson read a letter from Jack Schmidt regarding the Art in the Park, he <br /> also thanked the Park Commission for their dedication to making the park <br /> beautiful. Consensus of the Commission is to move/remove some art pieces from <br /> around the Armed Services Memorial. <br /> Ms. Peterson asked the Park Commission how many benches they would like to <br /> see the Eagle Scouts build for the Parks and how the benches should be <br /> installed (i.e. cemented). Chair Johnson stated he was made aware of a woman <br /> wanting to donate a memorial bench for Mayo Lake Reserve. Discussion ensued <br /> regarding number of benches, possible donation of materials, locations of <br /> benches. Consensus of the Commission is to have the Eagle Scouts build 4 <br /> benches. Nick Roy will provide the list for materials to Commissioner Boucher to <br /> get the estimate for materials. <br /> 7. Griswold Committee— Holiday Decoration Update <br /> Ms. Peterson and Commissioner Churack gave an overview of the "Griswold <br /> Committee's" last meeting: <br /> • New Member Officer Mike Davis <br /> • Denise and Tyler are asking a couple businesses to donate <br /> their"hoop" structures <br /> • Aundra will look into graphics for a Facebook page/Flyer <br /> and building a "Bobber" topper for the Mayor's tree <br /> • Ideas for along the trail are businesses sponsoring a 10 ft X <br /> 10 ft area <br /> • The signs for the donated decorations from Chamber are <br /> found and will be put up with the corresponding display. <br /> • We have measured the trail and will be measuring the <br /> Mayor's tree and bringing amount of lights along with cost to <br /> the next meeting on August 10th <br /> 8. Next Meeting —August 11, 2022 <br /> Chair Johnson stated the next meeting is on August 11, 2022. Members Clement <br /> and Churack will not be present. <br /> 9. Other Business <br />
