CERTIFICATION OF DELINQUENT ACCOUNTS TO TAXES FOR <br /> COLLECTION <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER ORASKOVICH SECONDED THE MOTION. <br /> MOTION CARRIED 3-0. <br /> 4. Open Forum <br /> No one appeared for Open Forum. <br /> 5.1. Board of Canvass <br /> The Clerk presented a resolution of canvass. She stated that the council <br /> and mayoral election results are noted in the resolution. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 08-34 <br /> CANVASSING AND CERTIFYING THE NOVEMBER 4, 2008, <br /> MUNICIPAL GENERAL ELECTION RESULTS FOR THE CITY OF <br /> PEQUOT LAKES. COUNCIL MEMBER ORASKOVICH SECONDED <br /> THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 3-0. <br /> 5.1.A. Check Register to Pay Election Judges <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN MOVED TO APPROVE THE CHECK <br /> REGISTER TO PAY THE ELECTION JUDGES. COUNCIL MEMBER <br /> ORASKOVICH SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 3-0. <br /> 5.2. Library Board Discussion on Library Expansion <br /> Nancy Adams of the Library Board briefly updated the Council on the <br /> expansion process. She noted that the expansion committee has <br /> researched the possibility of buying land but have ruled out the possibility <br /> because of the expense. The committee is now recommending an <br /> expansion of the back room of the existing City Hall. The Library Board is <br /> requesting authorization from the Council to begin fund raising for the <br /> building expansion with a goal of$150,000. Ms. Adams noted that there is <br /> a building in town that they would like to purchase, however, the cost is <br /> prohibitive. She noted that the only drawback with expanding the existing <br /> City Hall is that there would be no space for a meeting room. <br /> Council Member Oraskovich stated that he is on the committee. He noted <br /> that the committee is requesting to start a building fund that is dedicated to <br /> the library expansion. Council Member Oraskovich commended John <br /> Longnecker for the time he has put into the process. <br />
