Planning - visioning: • (1) - Comprehensive plan • (1) - City gateways with an emphasis on C.R. 11 • (1) - Sewer ponds /sanitation — (impact of future Highway) • (2) — Downtown — (Realistic assessment of downtown. Have a professional indicate where amenities should best be placed) • (3) - Future commercial development sites — (Identify future industrial park expansion areas) • Turnback of Old 371 and County Road 11 — (Plan for these becoming City streets in the future) • Parking — (assess whether additional parking or lots are needed) 4. Public works: • (1) - Streets and infrastructure plan — (assess what needs to be done, including storm sewers and costs) • (2) - Public works facility — (needs immediate discussion. If City Hall is in the "new downtown," do we want public works trucks & equipment visible ?) • (3) — Assess all infrastructure • (3) — Develop a Capital Improvement Plan • Remodel of city hall • Cemetery — (Current and future needs) 5. Government: (1) - City Administrator— Review existing staff structure with the thought of including a City Administrator without increasing staff count. Clerk to research and present information to Council Staff Training — (provide training to upgrade current staff) 6. Marketing: • Overall marketing of the City (mugs, cups, hats, shirts) • Visitors Bureau • City -wide Wi -fi • Partnership with neighboring communities for programs, ideas and support The Council discussed the possibility of bonding for some of the top priority projects. They felt that because bond rates are at an historic low, this is possibly the time to combine the cost of many projects and put a yearly amount into the budget to cover the cost of the bond payments.
