Planning - visioning: <br />• (1) - Comprehensive plan <br />• (1) - City gateways with an emphasis on C.R. 11 <br />• (1) - Sewer ponds /sanitation — (impact of future Highway) <br />• (2) — Downtown — (Realistic assessment of downtown. Have a <br />professional indicate where amenities should best be placed) <br />• (3) - Future commercial development sites — (Identify future industrial park <br />expansion areas) <br />• Turnback of Old 371 and County Road 11 — (Plan for these becoming City <br />streets in the future) <br />• Parking — (assess whether additional parking or lots are needed) <br />4. Public works: <br />• (1) - Streets and infrastructure plan — (assess what needs to be done, <br />including storm sewers and costs) <br />• (2) - Public works facility — (needs immediate discussion. If City Hall is in <br />the "new downtown," do we want public works trucks & equipment <br />visible ?) <br />• (3) — Assess all infrastructure <br />• (3) — Develop a Capital Improvement Plan <br />• Remodel of city hall <br />• Cemetery — (Current and future needs) <br />5. Government: <br />(1) - City Administrator— Review existing staff structure with the thought of <br />including a City Administrator without increasing staff count. Clerk to <br />research and present information to Council <br />Staff Training — (provide training to upgrade current staff) <br />6. Marketing: <br />• Overall marketing of the City (mugs, cups, hats, shirts) <br />• Visitors Bureau <br />• City -wide Wi -fi <br />• Partnership with neighboring communities for programs, ideas and <br />support <br />The Council discussed the possibility of bonding for some of the top priority <br />projects. They felt that because bond rates are at an historic low, this is possibly <br />the time to combine the cost of many projects and put a yearly amount into the <br />budget to cover the cost of the bond payments. <br />
