AGENDA ITEM # 8.4
City of
Pequot
Lakes
REPORT TO CITY COUNCIL
Report Prepared by: Jen Anderson, PLPD Office Mgr.
Date: June 5, 2023
Subject: ARPA Funds
Report: Sgt. Ryan Franz has been in touch with I-Pro about upgrading our
Panasonic software. Currently, when we need to send video (in-squad or body
worn) to the city or county attorney's offices, video must be exported to a DVD
disc or flash drive. This is not only time-consuming but costly, as we are paying
for discs and flash drive as well as postage. This new upgrade will give us the
capability to send videos instantly.
The upgraded software will also allow us to redact Body Worn Camera video,
which is required before public release. This software will also allow supervisors
and dispatchers to access live feed from the Body Worn Cameras, which allows
real-time monitoring for officer safety and situational awareness.
Council Action Requested: Approval of designating $7,071 of ARPA Funds to
upgrade Panasonic software.
