KDV
If your City has used either Miller McDonald or KDV as an auditor,
would you let me know how satisfied you were with their services?
Thank you.
City of Barnum uses KDV, I am very satisfied and they help all through
the year. Expensive, but worth it.
The City of Princeton has used KDV for about 20 years. I.guess the length of time indicates
satisfaction with their performance. Their experience with doing audits for cities of all sizes has
always been a benefit to me. They encounter most of the situations that Princeton has and can use
that to assist us.They usually do well in being able to meet our schedule and their turn-around
time with statement review, printing and copying is satisfactory.
We used KDV for the first time last year to conduct the audit of our 2008 financial statements
after using EideBailly for well over 15 years. After a few adjustments as we had to learn to
become more familiar with KDV's staff and manner of conducting an audit, we were very pleased
with KDV's professionalism and capabilities.
Dana Young
City of Deephaven
Sandy— I just want to let you know that I always was very happy with the service given to me or
any city I have worked for. They are very professional and always helpful in any situation.
Rena Weber
Administrator/Clerk
City of Rockville
Greenfield's audit was much more complicated due to the type of audit(GASB 34-city over
2,500)and all the different types of funds we had, but I think in general KDV's level of service is
higher. However, I believe that their price reflects that as well. They are quite expensive. Miller
McDonald was comparable according to the prices in my opinion as they were very responsive to
any questions and they did do a good job considering the mess that they had to deal with. Hope
this helps! Good luck.
Krista A. Okerman, CMC
City Clerk-Treasurer
City of Jenkins
KDV was great. Used them a number of years until we by policy had to change. (Coon Rapids)
Royalton uses KDV and are very satisfied. Expensive, but comparable.
Taylors Falls had KDV for many years (18+), and were very satisfied with them. However... 2
years ago one of their findings referred to our TIF Districts (EHLERS always had done the state
report for the Districts, AFTER the auditors have completed their audit). To cut a very tong
story short, despite my disagreement with the finding (as well as Shelly Eldrige's), the finding
flagged our city and we were audited by the State for our 2 TIF Districts. To cut an even longer
story short, KDV submitted an incorrect report in 1997, as well as 2006. If you agree with me,
the worst nightmare for a City Clerk is a State Audit. They were very helpful, but in the end
