Pequot Lakes Police Dept. <br /> Report to the City Council <br /> October 1, 2008 <br /> For the month of September the Department logged more than 500 individual ICRs. <br /> Current Activities: <br /> The Reserves, Part time and Full time Officers conducted 765 individual business and home security <br /> checks throughout the month, with 3 open doors found. <br /> The Reserves provided foot patrol during the Taste of Pequot in the City Park on September 13th and <br /> road crossing safety detail during the Colors of Fall Bike Tour on September 20th. The Reserves are <br /> once again busy providing crowd control assistance as Pequot Lakes High School sporting events as <br /> well. <br /> Officer Petersen will be the MC for the annual Homecoming Powder Puff game this year. The <br /> Department will also participate in the annual homecoming parade as well. <br /> Training: <br /> Sept. 10-11th: Office Manager Janet Wedan attended a BCA Conference in St Cloud, covering several <br /> of the categories she is contracted with the State to provide on behalf of the Department, <br /> with regards to mandatory agency reporting and records management. <br /> Upcoming Training: <br /> Oct. 8th: Officer Gartner will attend Instructor Snowmobile Safety Training in Albertville. He will <br /> then provide training to other officers and reserve officers within the dept. He could also <br /> provide training to area youth. <br /> Resent Case: <br /> Three-vehicle injury accident at the intersection of Hwy 371 and CO RD 17. Accident was caused by a <br /> vehicle that attempted to pass another vehicle waiting to make a left hand turn onto CO RD 17, using <br /> the right turn lane on Hwy 371. The vehicle making the left turn was then pushed into the southbound <br /> lane and struck by a southbound truck. Injured party was airlifted by North Memorial to an unknown <br /> hospital, with abdominal and leg injuries. <br /> Outstanding case of Motor Vehicle theft from May of 2008 was solved during the month by Chief <br /> Braam, Officer Petersen and Officer Gartner. <br /> Respectfully Submitted, <br /> Jerry Braam <br /> Chief of Police <br />
