JENKINS TOWNSHIP RESIDENT RESOLUTION <br /> TO TABLE THE ANNEXATION RESOLUTION BETWEEN THE TOWNSHIP OF <br /> JENKINS AND THE CITY OF PEQUOT LAKES, MINNESOTA <br /> SEPTEMBER, 2008 <br /> WHEREAS the Jenkins Township Supervisors have undertaken to sign an Annexation <br /> Resolution, and <br /> WHEREAS the Supervisors of Jenkins Township have failed to maintain open <br /> communication with Township residents, as well as the City of Jenkins per the Jenkins <br /> Township Comprehensive Land Use Plan(Comprehensive Plan 3.2) on all common issues <br /> of the Township and those communities. <br /> NOW THEREFORE be it resolved that the residents of Jenkins Township do hereby <br /> request that the Pequot Lakes City Council consider the following: <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED <br /> (1) Election of Township Officers: Table the Annexation Resolution until after Jenkins <br /> Township can vote on its slate of candidates who have applied for Township <br /> Supervisors positions. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED <br /> (2) Resident Survey: Review and respond to the Jenkins Township Resident Survey <br /> (Exhibit 1) as an expression of the desires of Township residents. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED <br /> (3) Tax Implications: Study and acknowledge the tax implications clearly of the <br /> Township residents being annexed into the City of Pequot Lakes(Exhibit 2- <br /> Bill Savage example). <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED <br /> (4) Planning and Zoning Issues: Discuss the new Crow Wing County Land Services <br /> Site Inspection Permitting and Enforcement Procedures to benefit Townships for <br /> handling complaints and compliance that took effect September 2, 2008 (Exhibit 3- <br /> County Planning and Zoning Procedure Changes). <br /> AND FURTHER, THAT BASED UPON THE FOREGOING, THE PEQUOT LAKES <br /> CITY COUNCIL DOES HEREBY MOVE TO <br /> (5) Table Resolution: Table the Annexation Resolution until proper time has been given <br /> to explore the Jenkins Township Elections, Tax Implications, Township <br /> Comprehensive Plan, Citizen Survey concerns, and Land Services improvements <br /> implemented by the County on September 2, 2008. <br /> T' een Steve Cox <br /> �"' Bill Savage Michael Dubay <br /> /31,0/ / <br />
