2. Develop a "growth boundaries map"with the City of Pequot <br /> Lakes and the City of Jenkins to plan for areas of future growth <br /> �-' and annexation using a strong public participation process and <br /> participation by Crow Wing County. Once a map is created it <br /> should be approved through the adoption of a Resolution by both <br /> communities. <br /> 3. Establish a regular meeting schedule, at least annually, to meet <br /> with adjacent City Councils and Planning Commissions to discuss <br /> existing and future development trends and examine the need for <br /> updating area comprehensive plan documents artd land use <br /> mapping. <br /> Goal B-2 Asset Mapping: <br /> Task Leaders: Jenkins Township Board of Supervisors <br /> Participants: City Councils of City of Jenkins and Pequot Lakes. <br /> Adjacent Township Boards; Landowners and <br /> Members of Public; City Planning Staff and <br /> Consultation; and the Region Five Development <br /> Commission as requested. <br /> Estimated Costs: Minimal <br /> Resources: As determined through Annual Meeting <br /> Timeline: At least annually <br /> Goal #3: Encourage the development of more rural residential/single <br /> family housing in less dense areas of Jenkins Township <br /> Objectives: <br /> I. Allow rural residential development of lands in areas indicated as <br /> suitable for such development on the Jenkins Township Iliture land <br /> use map. <br /> 2. Restrict multiple family development such as dense condominiums. <br /> apartments, etc., to areas that can support such development with <br /> existing or planned infrastructure such as growing areas within <br /> the Cities of Pequot Lakes, Jenkins and other area communities. <br /> 3. Encourage the use of established legal practices such as the use of <br /> conservation easements and the transfer of development rights <br /> (TDR), and site design practices such as cluster design to preserve <br /> the rural character of Jenkins Township. <br /> Goal B-3 Asset Mapping: <br /> Task Leaders: Jenkins Township Board of Supervisors <br /> Participants: Crow Wing County Planning Commission & Staff: <br /> Individual Landowners <br /> �.- Jenkins Township 35 DRAFT 12/1 5/05 <br /> Comprehensive Plan <br />
