City Council Minutes August 5, 2014 Page 3 of 9 ----------------------------- Fire Chief Nelson explained that the Cuyuna Range Fire Chiefs are working on a shared services grant application to help fire and rescue service organizations to work together to become more effective and more efficient. Chief Nelson requested that the Council send a letter of support indicating that the City of Pequot Lakes is interested in pursuing the grant. COUNCIL MEMBER GARDNER MOVED TO AUTHORIZE A FORMAL LETTER IN SUPPORT OF THE SHARED SERVICES GRANT APPLICATION. COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-0. 8.1. City of Jenkins Police Contract COUNCIL MEMBER GARDNER MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 14- 15, THE 2015 LAW ENFORCEMENT,CONTRACT AND JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF PEQUOT LACES AND THE CITY OF JENKINS. COUNCELMEM6ER AKERSON- SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-0. 8.2. Jenkins Township Police Contract. COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 14- 16, THE 2015 LAW ENFORCEMENT CONTRACT AND JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE GITY OF PEQUOT LAKES AND JENKINS TOWNSHIP. COUNCILMEMBER GARDNER SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-0. 8.3. Anil'Control Contract - 2015 - OUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED TO APPROVE THE CONTRACT FOR ANIMAL CONTROL SERVICES FOR THE CITY OF PE0JOT LAKES AND THE CITY OF JENKINS FOR 2015 WITH DON HANi4AHS JR. COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON SECONDED THE MOTION:`MOTI I CARRIED 4-0. 9. Public Works`° 9.1. Recommendation for Dog Park Location Mike Loven explained that the Park Commission has recommended that the Council approve the relocation of the dog park from Sibley Lake Park to the water tower property owned by the City. The recommendation to move the park is due to the inadequate space at Sibley Lake Park.
