MINUTES <br /> CITY OF PEQUOT LAKES <br /> SAFETY COMMITTEE <br /> September 3,2014 <br /> 8:00 AM <br /> PRESENT: Sandy Peine, City Clerk; Mike Loven, Public Works Supervisor; Eric Kiang, <br /> Chief of Police; Chad Turcotte, Police Sergeant and Dawn Bittner, Safety Secretary. <br /> ABSENT: Tom Nelson, Fire Chief and Dave Sjoblad, Council Liaison. <br /> OTHERS PRESENT: Nancy Malecha, Finance Administrator and Mark Jurchen, City <br /> Insurance Agent <br /> 1. Review of Minutes: <br /> A motion was made by Sandy Peine, seconded by Eric Kiang,to approve the May 7, <br /> 2014 Safety Committee Meeting Minutes as read. All members voted"aye" Motion <br /> carried. <br /> 2. Mark Jurchen, Lakeland Insurance Agent:': <br /> The Safety Committee invited Mr. Jurchen to explain the City's insurance coverage as it <br /> relates to the use of personal vehicles for City business and City vehicles for personal <br /> business. After Mr. Jurchen explained the current coverages, it was the consensus of the <br /> Safety Committee to develop a policy. A draft vehicle use policy will be presented at an <br /> upcoming Safety Committee Meeting, <br /> 3. Mock OSHA Inspection: <br /> A mock OSHA Inspection was conducted in July by Dave Lundberg, MMUA Safety <br /> Instructor. A spreadsheet was created outlining his concerns and the Committee <br /> discussed each concern and potential remedy. Once all of the items are remedied, the <br /> completed spreadsheet will be attached to the Inspection results. <br /> 4. Safety Program Update, Duties of Safety Committee: <br /> Bittner explained various safety manuals referenced duties of the Safety Committee. A <br /> draft list of duties will be presented at an upcoming meeting. <br /> 5. Accident Review: <br /> There have been no accidents. <br /> 1 <br />
